What this site collects

Where Money Goes has no accounts and does not ask for personal information. Your language choice and a counter of how many levels you have viewed (used to limit how often ads appear) are stored only in your own browser's local and session storage.

Advertising

This site uses Google AdSense to show ads. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Learn more about how Google uses data from partner sites.

Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are shown a consent message before any personalized ads are served.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It does not use cookies, does not fingerprint visitors and does not track you across sites; it only reports aggregate figures such as page views, referrers and countries. See Cloudflare Web Analytics.

Data sources

Economic figures come from public sources (IMF, World Bank, Sensor Tower and company filings). Many sub-items are order-of-magnitude estimates and are labeled as such.
